Why join Calendly's Marketing team?

Calendly is looking for an experienced conversion copywriter to join our fast-growing marketing team. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Content Marketing, and support the sales team in growing our business.

Our ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced technology marketing environment. This role will require exemplary time management skills to successfully understand numerous customers' business objectives; create and test copy that attracts and converts customers through all stages of the funnel; and effectively help evolve, communicate and showcase Calendly's voice and tone. You have a firm understanding of the principles of SaaS marketing and performance media, including best practices at a channel level, writing short-form copy that gets attention and drives action.

A natural communicator, you enjoy collaborating across multiple teams (demand generation, sales, product marketing, brand & creative, etc.) This role will collaborate with in-house and contract editors and content creators on a variety of consumer-facing projects, and craft engaging copy that converts across multiple channels: email, digital advertisements, trade shows, videos, the website, publications, in-app/platform, executive presentations, paid and organic social media, paid search, and others. In addition, test and apply continual learning to the kinds of copy that performs best with Calendly's audiences, honing their approach through data reads and analytics. This individual is a seasoned storyteller who understands the consumer's point of view, from their needs and wants to their pain points and frustrations.

What are some of the high-impact opportunities you'll tackle?

  • Ideate, execute, and refine high-engagement conversion marketing that drives business growth for Calendly, including but not limited to website copy, webinar and video scripts, emails, ad copy, blog posts, case studies, and more
  • Partner with product content strategy and brand teams to establish voice and tone guidelines for various channels, and evangelize consistency throughout Calendly's communications
  • Test and monitor performance metrics to track the effectiveness of written copy, and quickly iterate off of successful content
  • Deeply understand and seek inspiration in the needs of our buyer personas through industry and market research, subject matter experts, and user data
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally with leaders in Product Marketing, Brand & Creative, Lifecycle Marketing, Demand Gen, and Corporate Marketing to scope, develop and deliver projects
  • Provide editorial support and guidance to junior writers, as well as contractors and internal teams
  • Propose creative copy concepts as you identify opportunities
  • Develop processes to create the most efficient workflows
  • Revise, edit and improve any written materials and ideas, ensuring everything we produce and share meets our high quality bar, serves our specific goals, and creates exceptional value for our audience

This opportunity is for you if you:

  • Have 5+ years proven industry experience / 3+ years of SaaS experience
  • Thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Possess a self-starter mentality and want to make a direct, tangible impact on a rapidly growing product and company
  • Produce quality copy in a timely manner and work well under tight deadlines
  • Can think outside of the box to maximize your creativity
  • Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm, resourcefulness, a positive, "can-do" attitude, a bias toward action, and a tolerance for change
  • Have copywriting experience at an advertising agency, media company or high-profile brand
  • Can share examples of your published work
  • Understand Calendly, its voice, and its users
  • Can handle multiple projects at once with an uncanny attention to detail
  • Have a solid understanding of marketing and sales funnels and goals
  • Have experience with internationalization
  • Have strong research skills and a love for reading about industries, competitors, and strategies
  • Have an innate desire to get better at your work through feedback, data, education, and results
