Job Description
CodePath is a national nonprofit that brings together employers, students, and colleges to eliminate inequities in tech education and provide underrepresented students with a path toward economic mobility. Our programming centers on the needs and successes of Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and low-income Computer Science students. Founded in 2017, CodePath has taught over 10,000 students and delivered courses across over 70 universities. We are supported by some of the largest and most well-respected organizations, including Andreessen Horowitz, Blue Meridian Partners, Cognizant Foundation, Comcast, Google, Meta, Salesforce, Walmart, and Workday, among others.
We are looking for someone that has at least 3 years of social media and content creation experience with exceptional copywriting skills. This person knows their way around Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, Reddit, etc. while having keen time management skills. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this person will support with content creation, monitor analytics, engage with followers and publish content on a weekly basis for CodePath’s accounts. Content creation will undergo an approval process to ensure quality content is being uploaded to our channels. This role will require some maintenance of our social media channels (i.e. making sure our IG highlights are updated). A background in tech is a plus.
Activities Include:
Content Creation and Publishing
Publishing content and making sure relevant handles are tagged
Posts are customized to the right channel/audience (i.e. LinkedIn for partners/students, Instagram for students, Twitter for media/influencers, etc.)
Content creation, including copywriting and working with our creative agency to ensure content is delivered on time and on brand
Conceptualize content ideas that elevate our brand and support our efforts in student and corporate marketing
Map out relevant holidays for us to celebrate (i.e. National Engineers Week or Black History Month)
Internal company alignment
Align with different internal departments on timelines for social media content needs
Managing our content calendar and approval process on Airtable
Create social media toolkits for amplification when necessary for announcements
External Engagement
Be conscious of different corporate partner branding requests when sharing on social media (i.e. proper logo usage or approval processes)
Engaging with people that comment or tag us
Engaging with our target stakeholders
Engaging with influencers - comment, like, and repost if relevant
Find onbrand content to share on relevant social platforms
Reposting relevant student testimonials
Ongoing Maintenance
Ensure the IG grid looks good and is on-brand
Set up a social media content calendar in advance
Schedule posts via Later or HubSpot
Tracking and Measurement
Monitor conversations about the brand and company partners and flag anything that may be of concern
Track analytics on content performance and report them on a quarterly basis
Qualifications
Has a deep interest in diversifying the tech industry; advocate for Black, Latinx, Indigenous communities or college students from low-income backgrounds
Likes to engage with people and online communities
CS degree holder or former CS student a plus
Has experience using HubSpot, Airtable, Later, and Canva
Knowledge of social media best practices and keeps up to date with industry trends; familiar with all of the major platforms, i.e. LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, TikTok, etc.
Experience with paid advertising is a plus
Strong creative brainstorming and writing skills
Can work with tight timelines, support campaigns in real-time, and work during the weekends when necessary
Able to work individually on a project; independent worker who values collaboration and feedback
At least 3 years of relevant social media experience
