Basic Assignment:
Grant Writer must display excellent written communication skills and decision-making skills with a deep understanding of documentation collection and implementation. Top candidates will be able to use their knowledge of fundraising to write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals. Preferred applicants will be deadline driven.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field preferred
- A minimum of two years of grant writing experience preferred
- Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals
- Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Major Functions:
- Developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders
- Maintaining proficient knowledge of organization’s history and programs
- Assisting with the execution of developing department’s strategy
- Identify, write and submit on RFP opportunities with School Districts and Charter Organizations
- Monitor reporting deadlines and submit reports as required
- Identifying grant funding opportunities
- Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals
- Furnishing prospective funders with supporting documents
- Collaborating with the President to compile annual report
- Maintaining records in computer databases
- Performs other duties as assigned
