TITLE: Marketing Specialist
FLSA STATUS: Part-time, Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing Specialist supports the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) in achieving communications goals, primarily by managing digital marketing technologies such as social media channels, websites, and email automation software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Social Media Management
- Manage various social media channels, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube
- Maintain a regular cross-channel posting cadence and adapt the calendar to fast-changing news stories and trends
- Generate written and graphic content using a brand style guide and templates in Figma, Canva, and other software programs
- Interact in personal and public messages as the brand representative
- Publicize and run live social media events
 Website Oversight
- Manage BIAA-run web domain(s) in WordPress, including consulting with an external web developer as needed
- Write, edit, and update written content in line with brand guidelines and search engine optimization (SEO) best practices
- Create and post graphic content utilizing basic graphic design software
Digital Marketing
- Manage shared inboxes, responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Provide metrics on website, social, and other channel performance
- Develop and send email newsletters; work within and manage an email database such as Constant Contact
- Distribute creative assets to partners through email and a shared file drive and provide marketing support as needed
Administrative Activities
- Adhere to specified deadlines and approvals processes
- Participate in regular meetings and communicate key details
- Comply with operational and personnel policies (staff meetings, employee evaluations, time sheets, leave requests, etc.)
- Perform administrative tasks as requested by supervisor or CEO
- Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One or more years of work experience in digital marketing
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
- Experience with social media platforms; knowledge of best practices
- Experience with CMS, particularly WordPress, is highly preferred
- Experience with marketing automation tools, such as SproutSocial and Constant Contact, is preferred
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines essential
- Excellent written communication skills and copyediting proficiency
