We are growing the team and looking for an experienced and talented Staff/Principal Data Engineer to join the team. Do you have a passion for building enterprise data lake-house infrastructure and pipelines for fraud use cases? Are you an expert with ETL and/or ELT? Do you have experience with deploying data pipelines and an appetite for making them reliable, efficient, and secure? If so, you might be a great fit for the data team! Experience and Requirements Expert level skills writing and optimizing complex SQL Knowledge of data warehousing concepts. Experience in data mining, profiling, and analysis Experience with complex data modeling, ETL design, and using large databases in a business environment Proficiency with Linux command line and systems administration Experience with languages like Python, Ruby, Java, or similar language Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hive/Spark. Authoritative in ETL optimization, designing, coding, and tuning big data processes using Apache Spark or similar technologies. Experience with building data pipelines and applications to stream and process datasets at low latencies. Demonstrate efficiency in handling data - tracking data lineage, ensuring data quality, and improving discoverability of data. Sound knowledge of distributed systems and data architecture (lambda) Knowledge of Engineering and Operational Excellence using standard methodologies 7+ years’ experience with AWS required, AWS Solutions Architect Professional preferred 5+ years’ experience with Terraform required 5+ years’ experience in DevOps Engineering or similar software engineering role 5+ years’ experience with Python (3.x), JavaScript, Goland and/or Rust 3+ years’ experience with containerization, specifically Docker and Kubernetes Proficient with GutHub/GitOps, Argo (workflows, events etc) Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines (creating, optimization, troubleshooting, best practices) Experience with instrumentation, logging and alerting methods and best practices Continuous improvement mindset Proactive approach to problem solving Demonstrated project development and leadership skills Experience with industry compliance standards such as PCI and SOC-2 Be an example to others through demonstrated professionalism, discipline, humility, and collaboration A passion for making data driven decisions Job Responsibilities Design, implement, and improve the data lake-house infrastructure and platform Ability to work in complex data warehouse environments with Product Management, Software Development, Data Science, and other Data Engineering teams to develop scalable and innovative analytical solutions, process and data stores Build low latency structured and unstructured data in the lake-house formation environment, and enable compliance teams to build successful, data driven fraud strategies.
