Technical Writer 🔥

What you'll do

In a few words…

Abarca is igniting a revolution in healthcare. We built our company on the belief that with smarter technology we are redefining pharmacy benefits, but this is just the beginning…

A Technical Writer is self-explanatory at face value: you'll be responsible for writing technical documentation. Translated, more or less, it means you will partake in the tasks of understanding systems, how they interact with each other, their capabilities, architecture and structures, to then dive deeper into creating, editing and reviewing system documentation. As a Technical Writer, your ability to analyze complex information is unbeatable and is natural for you to help people understand things that are difficult to understand. This is the kind of job enjoyed by those who like to get into the details of things and also, as should be obvious, write.

The fundamentals for the job…

  • Prepare, review, and maintain technical documents, including but not limited to, software and systems architecture, systems distribution and composition, systems capabilities, database structures and relationship, communication and connectivity, security, APIs, among others.
  • Engage with subject matter experts to compile existing system information to keep updated and maintain in a centralized place.
  • You will be required to work closely with different technical teams, product development, change management and environments management areas to interview and understand details of the systems; analyze and ask questions feels natural for you. Gather system information, understand the changes being implemented, and produce and maintain the technical documentation related to them.
  • Learn complex concepts and communicate information with ease and clarity for internal and external customers.
  • Use of visual models and tools to clearly communicate workflows, communications, relations, and system operations.
  • Because being of help is second nature to you, you'll assist anyone that would need help understanding how the different systems work, are built, different components, and how they interact with each other.
  • Present technical information in a live setting when needed, by providing training or walkthrough of technical aspects of the systems.
  • Participate during projects and new clients' implementations to gather technical documentation requirements requested by the client to support the implementation.
  • Support the technical teams with documentation updates during implementation of changes (they'll support you right back; we're all very supportive here). Basically, you will keep documentation up to date according with implemented changes and modifications in our systems
  • Develop documentation templates and ways of working to create standardize system documentation.
  • Provide coaching in System Documentation discipline as required.
  • Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties.
