Reports to:                  Southwest Development Director  

Position Status:        Full Time

Location:                     Remote, but preferably located in Salt Lake City, Utah, or Denver, Colorado, and surrounding areas 

DESCRIPTION:

The Parkinson’s Foundation is seeking a goal-oriented and self-motivated professional for the position of Development Coordinator for the Southwest and Rocky Mountain Chapters. This position is responsible for supporting the Chapter team in the implementation of the mission by helping to execute fundraising events, engage corporate and community stakeholders, and develop volunteers. As key member of a collaborative team, the Development Coordinator will support Chapter goals to cultivate partnerships and alliances to increase fundraising while building awareness within the community.

It is essential that the Development Coordinator demonstrates and upholds the Foundation values of collaboration, dedication, excellence, integrity, positivity, responsiveness, and teamwork.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Chapter Events Support – 90%

  • Securing venues, vendors and executing logistics for fundraising events. Special emphasis on events in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah.
  • Research and recruit new participant groups, sponsors, and media prospects for fundraising events in the Region. 
  • Create and execute event marketing communications, including event and chapter websites, social media, and email communications, and collateral pieces including postcards, posters, and other campaign material as needed.
  • Recruit event day volunteers for the region’s fundraising events, including seeking posting opportunities to increase visibility of PF Volunteer opportunities.
  • Attend as needed volunteer committee meetings.
  • Manage team captain and past participant outreach strategy including via emails, post cards, and text messages.
  • Process data entry, pull mailing lists, enter sponsorship opportunities, and pull reports from the Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online databases.
  • Assist the Chapter Development team with various mailings and phone calls/texting outreach.
  • Order collateral materials related to the region’s fundraising events including marketing materials, signage, t-shirts, incentive prizes giveaways, etc.
  • Track and report revenue and team numbers for the chapters.  
  • Attend events and programs where staffing is needed.
  • Other administrative duties as directed.

Other – 10%

  • Actively seek opportunities to address community needs and positively impact local community while advancing the mission, goals, and values.
  • Keep abreast of National Office activities and properly utilize the resources available.
  • Be knowledgeable about Parkinson’s disease and the Foundation’s strategic plan and operations. 
  • Assure the proper use, management, security and upkeep of the equipment and documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma and minimum of 2 years’ fundraising experience, preferably within a non-profit organization
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented team member
  • Ability to work cooperatively in team environment
  • Possess and exhibit a professional, outgoing, friendly, and positive attitude
  • Focused, organized and detail oriented
  • Employ discretion, tact and empathy, proactive and intuitive people skills
  • Previous outbound sales call, community outreach, customer service and tele-service industry experience
  • Comfortable spending majority of time on the phone
  • Exceptional verbal communication and motivation skills
  • Communicate accurately and effectively using email
  • Experience with social media and website navigation
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, database, and spreadsheet management
  • Maintain an excellent attendance record during this project
  • Work must be performed during core business hours 

COMPENSATION:

Hourly compensation for a total of 35 hours per week dependent on experience.
