Job Description:
Responsibilities:
· Work with principals, senior staff, and team members to help develop the strategy and design vision for marketing and communications collateral related to improving interoperability across the VA enterprise
· Drive continued education and awareness in how OTI’s products and services help the veteran
· Design and implement external communications (speeches, traditional & social media opportunities, etc.) – including tailoring strategic stories for external audiences
· Develop CIO content for executive presentations & communications including town halls, ELT Meetings, etc.
· Support the CHIVAO and project team to develop stakeholder/ and partner outreach and engagement efforts to obtain awareness, understanding, buy-in, and support
· Create strategic and innovative concepts and designs
· Participate in and lead strategy sessions
· Possess a broad understanding of the organization and its core functions. Create visually cohesive designs that are engaging and professional
· Demonstrate ability to tell a story through visual content, such as infographics
· Demonstrate understanding of the role that OTI plays in enabling interoperability across the enterprise
· Collaborate with various stakeholders to develop communications materials. Understand requirements, ask probing questions, and guide the customer through the design process
· Maintain currency with new design and prototyping tools, latest industry knowledge, and best practices. Incorporate feedback iteratively to produce high-quality deliverables. Anticipate and adapt to changing business requirements.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in communications, media, marketing, graphic design, or related field
· 8+ years of experience in Communications and Graphics Design role, preferably with a design, architecture, or professional services background
· Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products – SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams
· Working knowledge of HTML and basic web design (front end)
· Ability to provide strategic thinking and thought leadership
· Ability to work with Senior Executives in a Government environment
· Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills
· Ability to communicate and visualize ideas and concepts
· Able to collaborate with design teams from presentations through strategy, design, and delivery
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Fast learner and willing to be in constant learning of new abilities
· Experience working directly with creative professionals on business-critical projects with minimal supervision
· Experience working in a Communications and Graphic Design role for Federal Government clients
· Basic understanding of IT Systems of Systems (SoS) environment, architecture, and engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior experience with VA in a Graphic Design and Communications role
· Experience with health care service delivery systems
· Knowledge and experience with maturity assessment and continuous quality improvement models such as Software Maturity Models (CMMI, ISO), Organization Maturity Models, Security Maturity Models (CMMC). Understands the benefits and outcomes intended by deploying Maturity Assessment models
