Responsibilities: The Content Writer is a performance-driven marketer who crafts fresh content that engages readers, encourages them to take an action, and when necessary, entices search engines to recommend our website content on the first page. Reporting to the Content Marketing Manager, this position will write copy for a variety of channels, with a focus on email, landing pages, form headlines, blogs, and website copy. The role will also work closely with a talented team of UX/UI designers, content strategists, copywriters, and videographers to drive improvements in everything from clickthrough rates and open rates to keyword rankings and form fills.
  • Develop breakthrough content that helps students learn about exciting ways that they can change the trajecory of their lives through technical training across a variety of channels:
    • Drive improvements on open rates and clickthrough rates through email copy (including subject lines and preheaders)
    • Drive nurture program engagement through landing page copy
    • Engage audiences and drives referal traffic to UTI.edu through social media copy on a variety of platforms
    • Improve keyword performance so our content shows up in the first page of search engines
    • Improve video SEO in both YouTube and Google searches through YouTube titles and descriptions
    • Improve completion and inquiry rates through form headline and description copy
  • Share the career potential and possibilities as a technician by working with content startegists and other copywriters to create a consistent voice across campaigns
  • Develop clear and compelling conceptual solutions based on a deep understanding of our products, services, and target audience in order to drive inquiries, enrollments, and student starts
  • Collaborate with other members of the department to drive strong conceptual solutions through participation in brainstorming sessions and creative development efforts
  • Review your own work for spelling, punctuation, and grammar
  • Ensure accuracy in your writing by gathering critical information from internal and external sources to
  • Interview people in order to get the information you need to write compelling copy
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience

  • A portfolio or a collection of examples that include website content and email content examples is required; PLEASE SUBMIT A LINK WITH YOUR APPLICATION and Resume
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in journalism or marketing) preferred
  • Minimum one – three years experience in content writing for email, landing pages, and website is required
  • Experience interviewing people for articles/stories/content is preferred
  • Experience writing content for lead generation forms is preferred
  • Experience writing social media content is preferred
  • Advertising agency experience is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of SEO and SEO-best practices is a plus
  • Experience writing content for infographics is a plus
  • Ability to adapt the brand voice and tone across a variety of platforms in order to deliver on messaging goals throughout the funnel
  • Excellent writing skills that are applicable to a variety of formats, including websites, email, forms, social media, and more
  • Ability to line edit and story edit your own work
  • Optimize video titles and descriptions for YouTube search
  • Research (for accurate content)
  • Self-manage to deadlines
  • Work collaboratively with internal team members and agency partners
  • Drive to improve your skillset and the performance results of the work you produce
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail

  • Work in a fast-paced environment where things can change quickly
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds 25% or less of the workday. Occassionally, up to 10 pounds 5% of workday.
  • Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday.
  • Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, and reason.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed indoors in a climate controlled environment.
  • Regular business hours, occasional overtime.
  • Normal physical activity including movement, hearing, seeing and communication.
  • Occassional travel may be required for onsite meetings and/or events.
