How you'll add value:
- Research payroll compliance issues raised by internal stakeholders and customers and provide guidance
- Proactively track payroll tax regulatory changes at federal, state, and local level and collaborate with Product and operational groups to propose updates and to implement changes.
- Find solutions to payroll compliance issues, recommend system enhancements, and assist in the development, testing, and implementation of the proposed solutions
- Assist Payroll Operations with quarterly, year-end, and annual compliance activities.
- Research, evaluate, recommend, and summarize payroll compliance implications of new employee programs and/or labor agreements
- Create, update, and maintain a central repository of payroll compliance narratives and records
- Create, maintain, and perform recurring audits of pay data and rules to maintain payroll compliance
- Other duties as assigned
What you'll need to be successful in this role:
- 3+ years of tax & payroll compliance analysis or related experience; or advanced degree and equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated working knowledge of U.S. local, state, and federal payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure product and services are compliant
- Attention to detail and strong organizational and work prioritization skills
- Knowledge and experience in the SaaS / Software industry preferred, but not required
- Advanced demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel and tax and payroll systems and how they operate
- Ability to create, maintain, and improve processes in effort to increase overall team efficiency
- Exemplary analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills including experience with large amounts of data and in developing audit reports, metrics, and reporting mechanisms
- Ability to work with company executives to understand the company’s business needs and strategy
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use upmost discretion when accessing sensitive information
