What

The Connecticut Data Collaborative (CTData) seeks an enthusiastic person who loves data, believes in our mission, and wants to join our growing team as the Data Analyst.

The Position

The Data Analyst will work closely with the Senior Data Analyst to execute the mission of the organization and believe in the values of CTData: integrity, collaboration, respect, curiosity, creativity, passion, and data for equity. The data analyst will contribute to several areas of CTData, with a focus on our Hartford Data Collaborative work.

As part of a small team, the Data Analyst will:

  • Assist with developing our integrated data projects.
  • Help create our public-facing Hartford data platform.
  • Format, transform, analyze, and interpret raw data, including census and public data.
  • Summarize findings in clear, concise writing for print, web, and other formats.
  • Visualize data cleanly and professionally.
  • Draft research reports, analytical briefs, blog posts, and presentations.
  • Assist with answering census data questions from partners and community members.
  • Present findings and gather feedback from the public and/or stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree and strong quantitative analysis skills, preferably social science, community and economic development, public health, public policy, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience analyzing and communicating data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required (Tableau, R, and/or Python nice to have).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with staff and outside organizations.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a love of data.
  • Strong writing skills, particularly the ability to write about census and other public data to describe patterns and trends to general, non-technical audiences.
  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple project timelines.

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • GIS experience
  • Analysis using basic statistical methods (regression, ANOVA, etc)
  • Familiarity with or experience building and managing databases
  • Familiar with data privacy protection and security management processes

CTData, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, promotes a hybrid work policy with HQ in downtown Hartford however, this position can be fully remote.

This is an exempt, salaried full-time position with an annual base salary of $40,000-60,000. In addition, CTData provides health insurance, 403b, a 35-hour work week, vacation days, three personal days, accrual of sick time, and 10 holidays per year (plus one for your birthday).
