Job Title: Software Developer
Location: Remote
Purpose statement:
The software developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and deploying software systems utilized by the Synthetic Biology department. Primarily for handling manufacturing processes, and secondarily for internal web applications.
Essential Functions:
Design, develop and support functional software to meet customer needs.
Adheres to established software design, development, and project management methodologies.
Communicates closely with customers to determine and gather business requirements.
Analyzes and translates business requirements into functional software systems.
Creates and maintains documentation pertaining to software development and projects.
Works with database administrators to design relational databases.
Works with customers to develop test plans and user acceptance test cases.
Monitors and responds to software problems and work to resolve them as quickly as possible.
Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education or relevant experience required; B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, MIS, or related IT field preferred.
Professional Experience:
The following experience is strongly preferred
At least two years of experience with a .NET language. C# is preferred.
At least one year of experience with relational databases. MS-SQL is preferred.
.NET web development experience preferred, specifically using ASP.NET Core and JavaScript
