The Optum Health Financial Services Relationship Manager (RM) is responsible for developing and maintaining productive relationships with their large employer clients and is directly responsible for growth, retention, and client satisfaction (NPS®). The RM provides educational, strategic, promotional, and operational support to maintain and grow the financial services portfolio. Position will manage an assigned book of Optum Financial Services products (HSA, HRA, FSA, Cobra, etc.).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serves as clients’ primary point of contact for all financial service matters
  • Monitors and, when necessary, supports delivery of financial service functions to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded
  • Assists client in planning and implementation of financial service educational and promotional efforts, including on - site fairs and enrollment events
  • Achieves growth and retention targets for assigned clients
  • Identifies and manages risks associated with service delivery, competitive threats and changes within the clients' organizational or decision structure
  • Communicates industry, product and performance updates tailored to clients' needs and preferences
  • Represents client internally and coordinates with other functions to address ongoing service needs
  • Works in partnership with other UHG account teams to align communications, growth and retention efforts
  • Manages ongoing contract relationships and service delivery to clients for assigned account
  • Acts as outward-facing, dedicated resource for assigned accounts, typically with direct client contact (not call center) and large or complex accounts
  • Builds relationships with employer/group clients (not individual members) and serves as the primary point of contact for overall and day-to-day service delivery
  • Represents client internally and coordinates with other functions to implement client systems, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs
  • Works closely with sales on renewals and upselling, but incumbents do not have specific sales goal accountability or primary responsibility to close sales

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of account management experience
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Travel in U.S. 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with FSA, HSA, HRA and commuter transportation programs
  • Experience managing national client accounts
  • Experience negotiating contracts and pricing with clients

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The Salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The Salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
