Total Compensation Statement

Your Benefits are a significant part of your state compensation. The total compensation package could be anywhere from $72,144 to $82,796 annually. The total compensation package includes annual salary, insurance, retirement, leave and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position acts as the technical lead for a fast-paced application development team focused on .NET development. You will be performing new development and maintaining our current systems working with some of the latest development technologies: Visual Studio 2013/2015, Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2013, ASP.Net MVC, Single Page Applications, and Web Services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented programming principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of relational database design, data processing and data communications.
  • Knowledge of agile application development techniques
  • Knowledge of data privacy and protection initiatives
  • Ability to write, read, and interpret technical specifications, test cases, and software requirements.
  • Ability to design, develop and test web-based applications using industry standard techniques and guidelines
  • Skill in deployment of web-based applications.
  • Skill in developing and executing unit and system tests.
  • Skill in developing program specifications.
  • Skill in programming in Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
  • Skill in using source code configuration management tools such as Team Foundation Server
  • Ability in operating as a technical lead for application development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to the applicants with the following experience:

  • Professional work experience developing .NET web applications
  • Developing using relational databases (Oracle and/or SQL Server)
  • Professional Experience with programming using C#
  • Using advanced development techniques/patterns (Example: MVP, MVC and/or SPA)
  • Professional work experience developing applications using bootstrap, Knockout, and/or JavaScript

Preference will also be given to the applicants who have at least one of the following:

  • An associate degree or higher in a computer related field.

  • Web/Application development technical training or college credit.

Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.


This position may periodically be required to work outside regular business hours.


General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • The process for selecting applicant(s) for this position could take up to six months. Following the six-month period, a new application must be submitted to an open advertisement to be considered for that vacancy.
  • HSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
