JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT SWING:

On average, U.S. students are with substitute teachers for 5% of the typical school year. That means our students have substitute teachers for more than six months of their K-12 school career. The problem? We're suffering from a national shortage of substitute teachers.



Swing Education is focused on tackling the substitute teacher shortage. Our online platform makes it easy for great schools and quality subs to find each other. We help schools access more subs and offload tedious work associated with managing a pool of substitute teachers (recruiting, screening, payroll, etc.). Our network provides subs with a wider range of work opportunities to gain experience and build their professional network.



After more than 6 years in operation we are working with over 4000 schools in 7 states and have filled over 300k teacher absence days. We're a post-series B company with about 50 employees currently and our lead investors include GV (aka Google Ventures), Owl Ventures, and Social Capital. POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Corporate Recruiting Manager will contribute to the growth of Swing Education by building a quality pool of satisfied and motivated corporate employees. They will innovate on and expand our current strategies to effectively and efficiently scale our outreach and engagement of candidates in both technical and non-technical corporate roles.

 

An ideal candidate for this position has technical and administrative recruiting experience, is relationship-oriented, a fast learner, resourceful, detail-oriented, and proactive. You must be flexible to work in a fast-paced, highly interactive and innovative environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Responsible for the full cycle recruiting process
  • Build and maintain an effectively diverse pipeline to source healthy quality leads
  • Adhering to DEI commitment with hiring, holding leaders accountable to DEI initiatives in hiring
  • Executing an effective screening process including phone screens and reference checks
  • Act as point of contact for candidates for all hiring leaders and candidates entering pipeline
  • Manage leaders and staff through the hiring process
  • Ability to coach hiring managers on interview skills and process
  • Assist hiring leaders to update job descriptions as needed
  • Based on growth, manage team members to assist coordinating the interview process and through the day to day requirements of their job
  • Implements and manages processes to attract, evaluate, and refer candidates for open positions through variety of recruiting resources
  • Understands requirements for both technical and non-technical roles and works closely with hiring leaders on specific job skills needed for each role
  • Innovate on current onboarding process to scale with effectiveness and efficiency
  • Experiment with new strategies to optimize engagement of candidates
  • Evaluates and communicates key metrics to recommend appropriate recruitment strategies and ensure positions are filled efficiently and effectively
  • Utilize data to inform hiring managers to improve user experience and fill rate
  • Supports Swing Education’s effort to comply with confidentiality and security requirements
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relations with other departments
  • Participates in orientation of new employees
  • Follows Standards for Service Excellence for Swing Education

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years total of related recruitment work experience; 2+ years’ recruiting experience in tech preferred, education experience a plus
  • One year supervisory experience
  • Excellent interviewing skills
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial style, eager to take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships and evaluate candidates.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion in managing and engaging diverse pipelines of talent
  • Outstanding time management skills, with proven ability to accomplish numerous tasks and changing priorities in an effective and timely manner
  • Proven ability to think analytically to solve complex problems
  • Sound judgment, solid decision making skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Familiarity with relevant state and federal employment law to ensure all screening, hiring, and selection is done in accordance with employment laws and regulations
