What's the role?

Etsy, Inc.'s “house of brands” portfolio has expanded to now include four individually distinct e-commerce brands: Etsy, fashion resale marketplace Depop, musical instrument marketplace Reverb, and Brazil-based handmade goods marketplace Elo7. As an Etsy employee, you’ll address unique problems alongside hard working coworkers committed to Keeping Commerce Human. We're large enough that you'll focus on significant, complex challenges, but small enough that you can make a tangible impact.

As Senior Copywriter, Creative, you will be responsible for crafting messaging that motivates buyers to engage with the Etsy brand and our independent sellers—and ultimately drives them to purchase the one-of-a-kind products available only through our platform. You'll serve as copywriter for our ATL tracks of work, conceiving and developing messaging for TV, podcast, and out of home campaigns, along with ATL extensions. You’ll partner closely with Brand Strategy and channel partners to create compelling copy that helps get results. Are you passionate about bringing brands to life through compelling copy? This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager Editorial. For this role, we are considering candidates based in USA who are either remote, flex, or office-based. What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Work closely with creative leads to ensure all messaging and narratives are on strategy and support overall concepts

  • See copy projects through from start to finish

  • Deliver on objectives outlined in briefs provided by the Brand Strategy team and channels

  • Participate in brainstorm sessions and campaign concept development

  • Maintain and implement Etsy’s tone of voice and style guidelines across ATL work

  • Mentor junior copywriters

  • Support copywriting and concepting needs outside of ATL as time allows

Qualifications


Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • Demonstrated experience as a creative copywriter at agencies and/or brands, including deep experience with TV and out of home. Experience building campaigns for the UK market is a plus.

  • Excellent writing and organizational skills, and the ability to give and receive feedback to build successful ideas and executions

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving using a blend of strategic and conceptual thinking

  • Collaboration skills, with an understanding of how to earn trust from the team and fellow leaders and work with cross-functional partners to achieve shared goals

  • A trust in and dedication to Etsy’s vision, mission, and values
