Tax Accountant 🔥
The Tax Accountant will focus on the company’s Indirect Taxes to ensure regulatory compliance within the areas of domestic sales & use, international VAT, property tax, and various other indirect tax areas. Additionally, this role will provide advice, assistance, and support as needed to the sales ordering team.
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly JE’s, reconciliations, and tax reports to ensure accurate reporting of indirect tax
Prepare and maintain business licenses and renewals as well as annual report filings
Monitor the sales tax system, currently Avalara, to ensure correct rates and tax rules are applied
Work with the sales ordering team to respond to customer tax questions on billing and exemption certificate matters
Engage in identifying and maintaining process improvements and technology supporting the indirect tax function
Support other indirect roles as necessary; inclusive of property and excise tax when needed
Work independently to analyze and resolve notices and outstanding tax issues
Research applicable tax law with respect to specific issues and provide advice and recommendations
Assist with tax audits, including preparation and analysis of responses to document requests, and other correspondence
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
2-4 years of indirect tax experience in a multi-jurisdictional environment
Critical thinking with the ability to analyze large amounts of transactions
Excellent organizational skills with attention to details
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Experience using Avalara software
VAT/GST Experience with Philippines, Australia, and Canada
