This individual will design, develop, and maintain DCYF IT technology platforms, and serve as a subject matter expert in Mainframe Development. Some of what you will get to do:

  • Create, upgrade, maintain, enhance, and test existing applications using Unisys, COBOL, UCOB, MCB TIP Programs, and ECL.
  • Perform database administration tasks for Unisys mainframe database such as data modeling, data architecture, sustainability, training, and mentoring.
  • Participate in iterative process improvements regarding the System Development Life Cycle.
  • Design and develop interfaces with business partners.
  • Use software development methods and tools to integrate and support custom-off-the-shelf software and services.
  • Evaluate Commercial off-the-shelf software (COTS) and Software as a Subscription (SaaS) solutions to make “build or buy” decisions to integrate, and accelerate development of new and existing systems.
  • Recommend, design, and develop technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure regular, controlled deployment of updates to existing database driven applications.
  • Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, interface, and data related issues.
  • Monitor health and function of applications, react, and respond to problems.
  • Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and functional documentation reviews.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or closely allied field including 9 semester or 15 quarter
hours of computer science courses

AND

Two years of experience Problem solving as a developer designing, developing, or maintaining large-scale applications with mission critical business functions using Unisys COBOL, UCOM, MCB TIP Programs interfacing with Web Services, 2200 Executive Control Language (ECL), DMS 2200 database software, SSG, and supporting tools or .NET C# SQL Reporting Services, Transact SQL, Web based programming, and supporting tools.
OR

Experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

In addition to the requirements above, our ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following experiences, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Experience maintaining and supporting IT applications in a 24-hour availability situation.
  • Agile Training or Certification.
  • Experience with SSPS or other payment systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
  • Knowledge of DevOps concepts related to configuration management, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
