The Role

The Social Media & Communications Coordinator is a creative, self-starting, and well-organized individual who has a special skillset for looking at a mountain of digital content and visualizing the trails through multiple platforms that lead audiences to the same summit. We have well stocked library of stories showcasing how GO Campaign is changing the world, one child at a time - and we are looking for a creative mind with a big heart to help us share them.

The Social Media & Communications Coordinator reports to the Communications Director and supports the needs and goals of the Marketing and Communications Department while promoting the mission and values of the organization and maintaining the voice of GO Campaign across all social media platforms. They’re excited to refine and grow GO Campaign’s existing platforms and content in conjunction with larger, institutional goals. In concert with Communications Director, they will create content and develop overarching promotion, conversion, and engagement strategies. They will measure and analyze agreed upon metrics to determine key performance indicators.


Essential Functions


  • With guidance, conceive, create, and manage all published content across the organization’s social media channels (including but not limited to, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn)
  • Strategize and execute social media campaigns supporting the GO Gala, our annual fundraiser in October, including pre-event, night-of, and post-event communications (press coverage, event streaming, Gala Silent Auction promotion, etc.)
  •  Set KPIs around engagement goals and track progress against them monthly 
  • Develop and maintain a social media strategy and editorial calendar to ensure consistent and timely dissemination of content across multiple platforms
  • Craft and write copy for GO Campaign’s social media platforms, as well as content for supporters and partners to share on behalf of the organization
  • Collaborate with internal teams to inform social media strategy and ensure content is up to date, accurate, and consistent with GO Campaign’s branding and voice
  • Monitor the activity of GO Campaign’s Changemakers and Ambassadors across social channels and strategize potential engagement opportunities
  • Monitor and engage in social media conversations
  • Monitor and report the impact of social media campaigns
  • Comfortable representing the organization on social media platforms
  • Storage and distribution of media/communication materials.
  • Provide additional communications support to Communications Director as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is strongly encouraged
  • One or two years of related experience, ideally in a nonprofit setting with a genuine interest for the field
  • A demonstrated ability in conceiving, creating, disseminating, and reporting on social media content
  • Knowledge of the functions and best practices of social media platforms, as well as trends in online communication
  • Experience with online marketing tools (Airtable, Canva, HootSuite, etc.) and can recommend/implement new systems for content dissemination
  • Sharp writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be self-motivated, resourceful, and flexible
  • Strong attention to detail and overall organizational skills
  • Video editing, graphic design skills, and blog/website experience is a plus
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends (for events)
