We are seeking a Freelance Content Writer on a contract basis to help support our customer's business needs. This freelance writer role on our Creative Services team will get to work with seasoned SEO experts, innovative creatives and help fuel the content engine of our Resource Hub (blog) by writing engaging articles that drives organic traffic to the Connections Academy website.

What You’ll Do:
You will write a high volume of SEO-informed content that aligns with our brand messaging, positioning, and effectively communicate primarily SEO goals that engages prospective audiences.
Resource Hub articles and thought leadership Interactive infographics Optimizing content for SEO Writing catchy and SEO-optimized article headlines Lead-driving landing page content Organic social media post copy Utilize digital best practices for research, writing, and optimization including: Conduct SEO keyword research and write content with organic optimization in mind
Perform third party research and review trends in digital content space to ensure written articles are relevant to today’s marketplace, are cited and are fact-checked In partnership with SEO strategy, review previous quarter’s articles and continue to optimize based on data-findings as-needed.
Conduct interviews with subject matter experts and ghost-write content or bylining their articles Knowledge of writing for the web and SEO best practices Other duties as-needed Proofread/copy edit copy and design Ensure compliance with Connections Academy’s brand standards and style guide Enforce and maintain brand standards, style guides and different audience goals Embrace a constructive-feedback culture
Staying on top of current content marketing, blog-writing, and SEO content trends.
Writing for the web that is persuasive and that leverages catchy headlines, linking strategies, brevity when needed, and CTAs.

Must Haves:
3 to 5 years experience writing and editing marketing copy/content, namely for blogs
Knowledge of and experience with crafting content for SEO, including optimizing writing for SEO/SEM, especially SEO to drive clicks and conversions
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects based on business-critical needs
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, including knowledge and adaptability of editorial style guides and tone
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to handle situations with diplomacy and a professional demeanor at all times.
Ability to consult with internal constituents and draw information from others; produce written materials as required with permissions & legalities Understanding of/interest in current and future digital trends across platforms.
Have a strong ability to write digital content for varying formats, adhering to outlined best practices and brand standards of the format
Solid background in SEO and SEM principles and methodologies Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity of search engine optimized sites that rank high on major search engines for relevant keywords
Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media /social media Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work across functions
Ability to self manage to deadlines and be communicative regarding workload and expectation-setting.

Education:
Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or related field
Hours & Location
M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be 100% remote.
