The ME&O Program Specialist will support multiple EVSE programs on the Clean Mobility Team. This position is responsible for the marketing, education and outreach (ME&O) content and strategy with other internal departments and external partners across a host of implementation activities, spanning general program administration; workforce development; community member education; public events; and stakeholder engagement activities throughout California. This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in environmental justice, social entrepreneurship, and the clean energy industry to help launch and expand new, high impact programming at the cutting edge of climate and energy justice, while gaining a broad range of skills and experience in nonprofit program development and implementation. The ME&O Program Specialist will report to the Sr. Program Manager and will work closely and directly with other Program Managers, the Director of Clean Mobility Programs, a wide range of internal collaborators, and external partners. The Opportunity… GRID Alternatives is seeking an exceptional ME&O Program Specialist. The successful candidate will be a member of GRID Alternatives’ Program Administration Department, and will be responsible for managing the marketing, education and outreach (ME&O) activities with other internal departments and external partners across program areas, which include:
  • Design and implement a Marketing, Education and Outreach (ME&O) plan to expand community engagement and increase applications to EVSE incentive programs
  • Monitor and track the effectiveness of all ME&O activities. This includes: coordinating reporting on ME&O KPIs across respective programs; reporting on progress to goals for quarterly reports, and presenting on ME&O status to internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead content creation and design of support materials, including presentations, collateral, and other outreach materials
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to share success stories and case studies
  • Co-lead promotional event planning and CBO stakeholder outreach
  • Develop and implement media strategies; reviewing media-facing materials (including pitches); providing administrative support for ad buying; and supporting partner media efforts, as needed
What you need to bring to this role…
  • Minimum two year of ME&O professional work experience or College degree in the field
  • Strong organizational and computer productivity skills including high proficiency in marketing specific platforms such as Adobe photoshop, Canva, InDesign, Illustrator, as well as Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; and Google tools, particularly Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Sheets
  • Strong professional and presentation communication skills
  • Comfort with remote working environments
  • Highly organized
  • Competency around equity, and demonstrated ability to apply that competency with colleagues, partners, and in community
  • Interacts and works well with different work styles and experiences, and committed to personal and professional growth in the equity and inclusion spaces
  • Experience working with diverse group of stakeholders and community-based organizations
  • Enthusiasm for environment/environmental justice work, and demonstrated commitment to GRID’s mission and the communities we serve
  • Hired CA candidates must be able to pass a screening for drugs that are illegal in the state of California, including: amphetamine, cocaine metabolite, opiates, and PCP.
It would be great if you also had…
  • Experience marketing programs and services (specifically energy-related programs)
  • Experience organizing and managing events with media and press presence
  • Experience with environment/environmental justice work
  • Proficiency and experience with photography, video editing
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software
Where you will sit & the places you may go…
This position is fully remote/location flexible to any of our regional offices within California. Occasional travel within the state of California may be required. This position may require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects. Availability to work nights and weekends may be required. GRID Alternatives provides vehicles for work travel, and due to COVID-19 current guidelines, we may also require limited personal vehicle use. In the latter instance, GRID will provide travel reimbursement for work-related personal vehicle use in accordance with our payroll schedule. Additionally, all applicants will need a valid driver’s license and good driving record to be considered.
