Job summary
Would you like to help accelerate cloud computing adoption at the Enterprise level? Would you like to be part of a team focused on helping increase awareness and adoption of Amazon Web Services (AWS) by facilitating relationships with U.S. public sector organizations—across State&Local, EDU, DoD, Federal Civilian, Space, and non-profits—who are reinventing their IT strategy with AWS cloud computing? Do you have the writing and story-telling skills, public sector proposal experience, and the technical background necessary to help further establish and differentiate Amazon as the leading cloud provider?
As a member of the Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) Proposal Writer team, you will be challenged to be creative, think big, and educate our customers on how they can use the AWS Cloud to address their requirements. You will curate, grow, and update a library of existing content; research and document the ever-evolving internal AWS information; and coordinate with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) on solutions. Ultimately, you will research, draft, and deliver content for responses to RFxs, whitepapers, and related inquiries from both customers and partners. You will ensure our content is clear, concise, innovative, and compliant.
As a collaborative team member, you will work effectively across all levels of AWS as you research and write critical content under tight, customer-driven timelines. You will proactively engage with diverse AWS stakeholders to gather, organize, and synthesize content for RFx responses. You should be an excellent writer with the ability to convey complex ideas and information in easy-to-read, easy-to-follow, customer-focused narratives. You must be able understand RFx requirements, synthesize technical discussions, and incorporate existing content in developing new content.

Inclusive Culture.
Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and we host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Amazon’s culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.

Work/Life Harmony. Our team also puts a high value on work-life balance. Striking a healthy balance between your personal and professional life is crucial to your happiness and success here, which is why we aren’t focused on how many hours you spend at work or online. Instead, we’re happy to offer a flexible schedule so you can have a more productive and well-balanced life—both in and outside of work.

Mentorship and Career Growth. Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded professional and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.

Key job responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively to identify and write content for RFx responses
  • Craft compelling proposal narratives that synthesize both existing content and new inputs from SMEs, in alignment with strategic proposal objectives
  • Own proposal content development for distinct RFx sections, from ideation to final review
  • Independently gather, organize, and synthesize information from diverse AWS stakeholders,
including those from sales, engineering, solutions architecture, and other organizations
  • Contribute to proposal solutioning and strategy development sessions, asking clarifying questions to proactively guide content development
  • Curate, grow, and update our team library of approved content, driving and organizing proposal content to maximize reuse effectiveness and utility
  • Review final proposal documents for editing and content completeness
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to the above responsibilities

Candidates should be comfortable creating documents that meet compliance requirements, align with sales objectives, provide clear technical and non-technical information, and encourage government customers to adopt AWS Cloud.
