Job Description A Sage Senior Learning Designer collaborates with product teams and a Learning Program Director or Manager to design and develop training content and instructor tools for a variety of learning formats based on established curriculum standards. The SLD spends much of their time supporting the team design and development of eLearning, videos, exams, digital workbooks to support ILT and VLT classes, and job aids. SLDs design and develop ALL components for learning solutions including text, graphics, recorded speech, and animations. In addition to becoming an expert on the functionality of Sage products, the Learning Designer assists as needed with train the trainer, employee training, training certification, and corporate educational events and conferences as needed. In addition, the SLD acts as coach and mentor to less senior Learning Designers and takes on a serious commitment to maintaining organizational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Works independently or as a member of a team led by a Learning Program Director or Manager to create media content to support learning products including drawings, charts, photos, animations, sound recordings, and videos in support of team learning product development

  • Creates and maintains Sage learning products based on established Learning Services standards such as templates, process documentation, etc. to ensure quality, usability, consistency and effectiveness of learning products such as eLearning, ILT, VLT, videos, exams, and job aids

  • Takes a leading role in the creation of quality standards, templates, and processes

  • Solicits input and feedback from stakeholders, customers, peers, subject matter experts, etc. based on standard review processes

  • Works as part of a modified agile scrum team and fully participates in sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives with intelligence and enthusiasm with the highest regard for the team whether working locally or remotely

  • Takes on other temporary related roles as needed such as Learning Program Manager and Scrum Master

  • Follows process as needed and uses Workfront with great discipline to document work status daily

  • Completes assigned stories and tasks on time with high-quality output, and acts as an example of discipline to other team members

  • Acts as an Instructor on an as-needed basis and often participates as lead instructor in train-the-trainer scenarios

  • Participate in Sage customer and partner events such as Summit and Insights to develop, review, and deliver educational sessions

  • Complies with all backup and storage requirements to ensure the integrity of our learning products and source materials, protects our intellectual property, and complies with all company standards


  • Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in an education environment

  • University degree educated or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in the creation of charts, photos, animations, and videos for learning.

  • Wide and deep experience with Microsoft Office, Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud and other e-learning or media technologies including Learning Management Systems.

  • Must have exceptional communication and organizational skills, demonstrate initiative and work well in a team-based environment.

  • Be results-oriented and demonstrates a strong orientation toward outstanding customer service with a complete willingness to accept accountability for results.


  • Preferred:
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment

  • Can demonstrate a portfolio of outcome based previous work

  • Degree in education, education technology or equivalent experience

  • Experience creating learning for global programs

  • Experience in the creation of drawings.
