Instructional Designer - Elearning 🔥


Pedago is looking for an e-Learning Instructional Designer to work directly with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to storyboard content into simple, easy-to-understand e-learning courses.

In this role, you will storyboard educational courses for Quantic’s Master’s and/or Bachelor’s degree programs. This role involves breaking down often complex concepts into their fundamental pieces and weaving them into clever, engaging educational lessons that are easily understood and digested for use in the real world. Successful instructional designers are self-motivated and lifelong learners who are detail-oriented, conscientious, manage their time well, and hit their deadlines.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate closely and professionally communicate with SMEs to ensure they provide content in a timely fashion.
  • Consistently interact with SMEs to thoroughly understand complex content.
  • Implement instructional design best practices to storyboard SME content into well-organized, bite-sized chunks with the learner at the center.
  • Apply pedagogy methodology to the storyboard that optimizes content absorption and retention by the learner, while applying learning theory to teaching methodology for flow and sequence.
  • Create appropriate interactions throughout every lesson to keep a student engaged while learning for retention.
  • Work closely with the e-learning Instructional Writers as they draft the content in the e-learning platform. Ensure the content follows the storyboard flow, contains accurate content, and follows our style guides.
  • As the primary editor of the content, communicate with the e-learning Instructional Writers about all editing feedback toward creating quality content.

Other Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Master Quantic’s in-house writing style and tone (training provided).
  • Always be open to learning, adapting, and implementing feedback from the SME and other instructional design team members to ensure the highest level of quality output, to improve content, and to increase skill set.
  • Work with the entire instructional design team to ensure content accuracy, lesson quality, and timeliness of degree program delivery.
  • Assist all team members as needed, including drafting lessons in the e-learning platform or other administrative responsibilities.
  • On occasion, work directly with product leadership and developers to propose improvements to the Quantic suite of products.
  • Consistently meet deadlines.
  • Learn, master, and utilize Quantic’s various technology platforms.
  • Master new subject areas on an ongoing basis.
  • Juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Seamlessly and successfully work with a team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of instructional design storyboarding and/or experience creating/teaching lessons
  • Solid experience applying learning theory to course development
  • 1+ year experience creating lessons using e-learning authoring software. Note: We have our own proprietary e-learning authoring software. Candidates would not be expected to have experience with it. However, candidates must have experience with at least one popular authoring software platform.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • 1+ years using multiple technological platforms
  • Detail-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience designing or delivering educational curriculum
  • Hands-on experience with G Suite, project management software
