As a Sr. UI Designer at GMR, you will help lead the design and development of GMR’s internal applications. TEAM OVERVIEW //
The Sr. UI Designer is a member of GMR’s IT Business Solutions team. We’re a group of software engineers, business systems analysts, and business intelligence professionals with a variety of passions and backgrounds.
YOUR IMPACT //
- Ability to think through complex features and flows, balancing user and business needs
- Using business requirements to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements
- Iteratively creating interaction flows, wireframes, and UI prototypes for small- and large-scale projects
- Collaborating with other designers and product & development teams to concept, design and execute human-centered solutions
- Initiate, suggest and spearhead major UI and UX refactoring for a more intuitive experience; design elegant solutions to complex workflows.
- Lead the design of business solutions and ability to incorporate user feedback
- Is seen as a go-to expert with deep subject matter knowledge and an integral piece to project success and impactful results; the job can't get done without this person; often functions as an individual contributor with advanced technical knowledge.
- Is willing to share expertise, fosters teamwork, and demonstrates a collaborative approach.
- Advocates for the best user experience throughout the creative and development process
WHAT WE NEED //
- Strong conceptualization ability, visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique
- Strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InVision, Figma, Axure and other associated design/wireframing tools
- A passion for UX and a desire to educate and share that passion with the agency
- Interest in information architecture and incorporating it into the design process
- Experience with content management system (CMS) tools like WordPress, Umbraco, etc is preferred
- Experience coding valid HTML and CSS mark-up preferred, but not required
- Experience with ReactJS, Redux, Node.js or other comparable web technologies preferred, but not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to communicate with and present work to technical & non-technical audiences
- A collaborator who is a responsive and respectful team member
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills
