An Exciting Opportunity:

Spectrum Chemical is seeking a dynamic Sales Associate to join our sales organization. This role is responsible for supporting new, existing and unmanaged customers. This person will drive brand awareness and will be focused on supporting customers who may fall in a vacant territory, call in via phone for immediate orders, or other existing accounts who many not be supported otherwise. This position will also will be focused on increasing Spectrum’s new customer base and enhancing our customers onboarding experience. Our sales organization is expected to sell compendial chemicals, laboratory products, and custom process solutions in their territory to Pharma, Biotech, Cosmetics/Personal Care, Med Device, and other FDA-monitored industries. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work with a dynamic, and growing company. This person will be the primary point of interaction for unmanaged accounts and supporting the customer base.

Initiatives you will champion:

  • Convert and onboard leads into new accounts
  • Tradeshow follow up to leads with no current account
  • Primary contact for new account queries
  • Coordinate with appropriate sales contact for further onboarding experience
  • Support Open territories during transitions
  • Reinvigorates and builds upon non-buying, existing accounts
  • Trade show follow up and support for existing customer accounts
  • Supports inbound call opportunities for immediate needs and order placement
  • Will perform outbound call outreach for prospecting
  • Identify accounts with potential that should be elevated to Sales Account Executive and or other internal resources to best support customer growth
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with multiple internal and external customers
  • Support and contribute to the sales organization growth goals by supporting customers who may not have primary sales rep and/or coded as unmanaged
  • Qualification and vetting of existing distribution or direct accounts to ensure satisfactorily supporting customer needs
  • Ability to identify trends, provide suggestions for growth opportunities in customer base; solution oriented
  • Microsoft Office package/excellent PC skills
  • Independent problem-solving/analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, biology, or the life sciences required
  • A sales or educational background in life science, chemistry, biology, or other scientific products is a plus
  • A can-do, positive attitude
  • Ability to travel and lift/carry between 40 & 60 lbs.
