Payroll Tax Analyst Responsibilities:
- Perform and support routine bi-weekly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax processes.
- Conduct employee and employer tax research and reconciliation.
- Enter and complete wage and tax corrections in the payroll system.
- Process employee and employer tax return amendments.
- Manage and support resolution to tax assessments, audits, and other legal matters.
- Complete and submit registration forms for new state and local identification numbers.
- Maintain knowledge of current federal, state, and local tax legislation, to include evolving legislation changes to a remote workforce.
- Provide customer service and resolution to incoming employee inquiries.
- Develop meaningful relationships with cross-functional business partners and payroll vendors.
- Participate in department and cross-functional business partner projects, mergers and acquisitions, and vendor system updates.
- Identify and drive process improvements consistent with industry best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- MS Office and software application proficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or in a business related, or equivalent years of payroll tax experience.
- Detail-oriented professional with solid analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, local payroll tax regulations.
- Experience working independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, as well as to get results through collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Proven communication, organization, and follow-through experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FPC/CPP certification.
- Workday and/or ADP SmartCompliance experience preferred.
