Sales Engineer I

As a Sales Engineer at ProductPlan, you’ll guide prospects through evaluations of our software, ensure their technical questions are answered, provide customized demonstrations highlighting how ProductPlan can address specific challenges, and coach the Sales team in training and enablement to ensure their own success. You’ll respond to security related questionnaires and concerns, meet with internal cross-functional teams, and get to talk to product people around the world. You’ll work closely with one of the most curious and tenacious sales teams around.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the trusted advisor for prospective customers
  • Craft value-based demonstrations that address specific customer challenges and accelerate the adoption of the ProductPlan platform
  • Own pre-sales technical support of prospects from initial contact through product demonstration and close
  • Work with the sales team to close new business by addressing prospects’ challenges
  • Enable new Account Executives and Sales Development Representatives for success and transform them into ProductPlan experts through training and support
  • Collaborate with fellow team members as well as internal/external stakeholders to meet project milestones
  • Work across all levels of the organization to develop best practices and connect prospects with Product Managers and Marketing to further customer success and ProductPlan evolution as a market leader
  • Be the go-to expert for all things product: new releases, integrations, etc.
  • Be a liaison between sales and other departments and create channels/processes by which to share this information
  • Be a security expert for the sales team and for prospects and be able to speak knowledgeably about security-related questions and concerns
  • Assist in compliance efforts (e.g. SOC 2 Type II)
  • Previous experience working with sales teams to close new business by addressing prospects’ technical challenges
  • Ability to leverage strong technical aptitude to master ProductPlan’s product offerings, business model, services, and emerging technologies
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders on time-sensitive project
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills both in-person and through virtual meetings, direct message, email, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to synthesize meaningful information from ambiguous data
  • Experience acting as a technology evangelist
  • Experience with product management is a plus
  • Familiarity with Jira and/or Azure DevOps is a plus
