RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Associate Director is viewed as a position that is able to lead teams and individuals through challenges and obstacles whilst always showing a thirst to teach, nurture, and cultivate a positive company culture
  • Establishing department goals and objectives; strictly holding their team accountable for reaching them and tweaking business operations where needed to meet objectives
  • Lead the development of strategic insights that help fuel our overall approach to client work, new campaign concepts, and research that delivers meaningful information
  • Oversee the execution of social media strategies by the 9thWonder social media department; it is your responsibility to ensure a metric-focused approach to success
  • Prepare and present documents to internal teams and clients, understand feedback, and manage next steps of the social media team in partnership with Supervisors
  • Always be up to speed on the latest industry news and updates that may impact client work and the activities of the social media team. This position is expected to be at the forefront of social media trends.
  • Expert understanding of business analytics and social media metrics that impact client work and gain insight from reporting. The Associate Director must have the skill sets and experience needed to gather data and build reports to showcase performance.
  • Work closely with media teams and support campaigns especially when they’re channels of execution dictate a strong social media component
  • Demonstrate acute understanding of Community Management and all social media platforms that require oversight
  • Assist Executive Leadership with any new business pitch work and presentation building for potential social media clients
  • Demonstrate top level thought leadership that the social media team will look up to and emulate so that there’s a continuous flow of experience being passed down to members
  • Interface with clients and client leadership often; must have a professional manner in both verbal skills and managing relationships
  • Lead internal meetings with teams and integrate directly with Account, Creative, and other departments
  • Strong problem solving skills and outside-the-box approaches to solving unique social media scenarios
  • Other duties assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of social media management experience; strong background in mix of media and strategy is required
  • Minimum 3 years of managing teams, career planning for members, and leadership
  • An excellent understanding of all marketing communications mediums (including digital, social and offline channels)
  • Vast insight and experience in content strategy as it relates to campaign executions within social media platforms
  • Excellent understanding of the influencer market; candidate must show an acute background in establishing partnerships with brands and influencers
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, their inner workings, and dependencies on partnerships with brands, influencers, content creators, etc
  • Showcase a mastery of Facebook’s Business Manager and other business management tools native to social media platforms
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to become an “influential consultant” to clients
  • Ability to link business goals with strategic executions
  • Visionary “outside the box” thinker – equally strong conceptual, analytical, and executional
  • Excellent presentation skills, able to construct a logical and cogent narrative when it comes down to social media strategy
  • Proficiency in setting expectations, departmental objective planning, and managing team members throughout their careers with 9thWonder
