Job Title: SEO Content Strategist

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a talented SEO Content Strategist to be based remotely anywhere in the USA, Canada, or United Kingdom. This full-time position will be responsible for a wide variety of writing and content strategy projects, including developing blog and website copy, infographics and content assets, in addition to keyword research, content gap analysis, and further supporting the content strategy. The successful candidate will be skilled across media channels and audiences and use content strategy and optimization skills to reach, engage, and convert. This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and excellent writing skills.

This individual will report to our Content Marketing Manager and will work closely with our Sr. Content Marketing Manager, Copywriter, and SEO Analyst.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and own the development of compelling copy and content for a variety of marketing initiatives: website, blog posts, case studies/whitepapers, eBooks, landing pages, and additional marketing/sales collateral.

  • Conduct regular keyword research, content analysis, and competitor analysis to determine what type of content will best support our brand and digital marketing efforts.

  • Apply your keyword research to develop briefs, create outlines, and write copy for blog posts and web pages.

  • Develop a master understanding of Velocity Global’s solutions and product updates.

  • Optimize new and existing web copy to reflect SEO/ digital marketing best practices.

  • Develop content that matches the style and voice of our brand, while optimizing for SEO.

  • Identify gaps in existing content and develop ways to strengthen our brand and voice across content channels

  • Develop and deploy a strategy to leverage content for adaptation and usage across mediums.

  • Stay on top of SEO/digital marketing trends, Google algorithm updates, and new tools to create cutting-edge strategies.


QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of content marketing experience (copywriting, content strategy, digital marketing). B2B and SaaS experience preferred.

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills including rules of composition and grammar.

  • Experience conducting keyword research, optimizing content, assessing competitor content, and reporting on success of content marketing initiatives.

  • Detailed knowledge of SEO, web optimization, and Google Analytics experience is required.

  • Self-directed, independent, strategic learner who also appreciates collaboration.

  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to own and complete tasks and projects on time.

  • Extremely organized with attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and has experience with asynchronous and synchronous teams.

  • Proficient in WordPress, SEMRush, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.

  • Understanding of content marketing strategy and how to produce copy to achieve objectives.

  • Proven ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment; willingness to pitch in to help the team.
