Freelance Content Writer, History and Genealogy 🔥
The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society (NYG&B) is seeking a freelance digital content writer to assist in the creation of email marketing campaigns. This is a freelance position, working 10-15 hours per week beginning July 1, 2022, through at least August 31, 2022. WHAT YOU’LL DO
· Work closely with members of the NYG&B team to develop and execute all digital content writing for the NYG&B.
· Responsible for developing copy for approximately 8 emails per month including upcoming events, publication sales, membership notices, and the bi-monthly NYG&B eNews.
· Adhering to the internal digital content calendar, ensuring content is drafted, approved, and sent according to schedule.
· Drafting, finalizing, and sending emails according to the digital content calendar using MailChimp and NeonCRM (where applicable).
· Develop copy for landing pages, social media, and website pages as needed (and time allows) each week.
ABOUT YOU
· A track record of successful digital content production (ideally more than three years of experience).
· Experience and knowledge of writing about history, genealogy, or family history.
· Experience using MailChimp (required) and NeonCRM (preferred, though training will be provided).
· A team player and self-starter, who can work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Exceptionally detailed-oriented and well-organized.
COMPENSATION
· $25 to $40 per hour / 10-15 hours per week
