Duties

  • You will serve as the technical publications expertise and primary executer of the technical publications life cycle management policies, processes, and procedures supporting acquisition efforts for Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC)
  • You will be responsible for analyzing, editing, writing, and editing of information to produce grammatically accurate technical publications related to life cycle management policies and procedures of equipment and weapon systems
  • You will work across the enterprise to ensure technical publications are developed in accordance with applicable standards/regulations, accomplish standardization, coordination and collaboration with outside agencies.
  • You will review/analyze publications in terms of technical coverage, scope, content, subject matter and research methodology, using proper format, reviewing for grammar, punctuation, spelling and clarity of content.
  • You will prepare and brief the logistics aspects of the technical publication process during IN-Process Reviews (IPRs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs), independent Logistics Assessments (ILAs) and milestone decisions.
  • You will prepare, review and manage major reports or acquisition and product support documents for internal and external distribution.
  • You will review technical and cost evaluations of the logistics aspects of contractor proposals and technical documentation and will participate in negotiations.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or (NH-II) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing, editing, writing, and editing of information to produce grammatically accurate technical publications related to life cycle management policies and procedures of equipment and weapon systems, developing publication requirements, responding to inquiries, AND researching and evaluating contractor proposals and publication development..
