The American Theatre Guild is looking for a resourceful and organized Copywriter looking to join a driven and passionate team. We are a non-profit national Broadway presenter dedicated to providing the experience of live theatre to foster passion, inspire creativity and empower youth within our communities. We are a relatively small office with a fun, casual environment.

Copywriter Duties:

  • Write and edit copy for a variety of projects, working closely across all departments from conceptual development to final product. Projects include, but are not limited to: emails, direct mail pieces, press releases and other communication materials, collaterals, telemarketing (scripts) and company-wide communications.
  • Manage all copywriting requests, including creating, proofing, and editing. Complete in a timely manner, consistent with strict schedules and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with digital and ticketing teams to proof and edit email copy in Review Studio. Submit email creation requests via Google Forms, as needed.
  • Responsible for communicating clearly how the strategy behind copy choices best positions our company and product.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times.
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally with management at different levels, internal and external partners, as well as the ultimate Broadway consumer.
  • Ensure use of correct grammar and punctuation (using AP Style and ATGuild Style Guide) for all communications company-wide.

_Copywriter Requirements: _**

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software
  • Easily adaptable to ever-changing marketing practices within the Broadway touring industry and individual markets’ needs
  • High level of accuracy, meeting strict deadlines, and working with others in a group or team
  • Ability to think creatively and problem solve
  • Willingness to take direction from superiors
  • Capable of working under light supervision

Education/Experience: **

  • BA degree in related field- Business, Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism etc.
  • Proven work experience in marketing; solid understanding of strategy and execution within the email marketing realm.
  • Three to five years of experience in various office functions preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard for up to 8 hours a day.
  • The employee is often required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, crawl, kneel, or crouch.
  • This position requires working indoors with controllable environmental condition and temperature.
  • This position requires the employee to talk and hear. Requires face-to-face discussions with individuals and teams, opportunity to make decisions without supervision, mistakes are not easily correctable and have serious consequences that impact the results of co-workers, customers or the company.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Employee will spend prolonged hours in front of computer screens.
