Content Marketing Writer 🔥


Message Lab is seeking a Content Marketing Writer who is a strategic thinker, quick learner, expert collaborator, and sharp and intentional with words. We’re looking for someone who understands how to use copy to drive storytelling, capture attention, elicit feeling, and support action.


As a Content Marketing Writer, you’ll be responsible for translating client strategies, goals, and visions into compelling copy that aligns with best practices for various platforms. You’ll collaborate with the strategic activation, editorial and design teams in concept on a range of projects. You'll also be responsible for writing and editing everything from banner copy, subject lines, social media posts to SEO articles, lead magnets, landing pages, brand messaging, and more.


This role sits on the Strategic Activation team and reports to the Director, Strategy & Insights.


What you’ll do:

  • Execute copy initiatives from start to finish, which may include: strategic planning, writing, researching, interviewing, editing, managing stakeholder input
  • Concept and write attention-grabbing copy for a variety of mediums, including websites, email, video, landing pages, UX elements, A/B tests, slide decks, organic and paid social channels, etc.
  • Collaborate on-brand messaging and storytelling initiatives
  • Research, write and edit content assets such as lead magnets, reports, case studies, and more
  • Consider strategic content opportunities, marketing objectives, and review channel performance metrics
  • Work with the design team to conceptualize, wordsmith and execute a variety of UX/UI, and design projects
  • Work with editorial teams to understand content strategies, content topics, and to adopt Message Lab editorial best practices and processes (including fact-checking, proofing, etc.)
  • Collaborate with strategists to guide branding and messaging workshops

Who you are:

  • You’re an expert at synthesizing complex and sometimes technical information into more accessible articulations
  • You are comfortable using writing as a tool to move ideas from ambiguity to driving concrete consensus-building decisions
  • You have comprehensive knowledge of copywriting and copyediting as a discipline
  • You have demonstrated experience developing copy for multi-channel campaigns
  • You have a depth of experience in copywriting for a range of businesses across different industries
  • You possess expert skills in expressing content in multiple brand voices
  • You’re comfortable contributing to the development of content strategies and brand-building through storytelling, naming, UX nomenclature, and taglines
  • You’re comfortable copywriting in a variety of formats, from short social campaigns, CTAs and other UX writing, to email subject lines and more robust landing pages and assets
  • You’re familiar with adapting messaging to resonate with various target audiences
  • You’re used to taking feedback and working in an iterative process against tight timelines
  • You have a flair and passion for developing sharp, clever, and engaging copy
  • It would be great if you:
  • Live within the Boston/ New England area, and is open to joining, on occasion, a WeWork session
  • Have a portfolio of work that demonstrates content that simplifies and beautifies the overall user experience
  • Have previous work experience at an agency
