Business Development Representative 🔥


Purpose of the position

Reporting to the Team Lead, Business Development, you will be responsible for driving SMART Learning Suite and Lumio sales growth in your North American sales region. This office-based position will focus on new user and customer acquisition through outbound prospecting motions.

The focus will be broken down into three major areas: 1. Identifying and researching contacts and prospects 2. Digital, phone and social prospecting through coordinated outbound campaigns 3. Booking of meetings and demonstrations in support of sales pipeline growth.

Within your defined areas, you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding weekly, monthly, and quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute outbound campaigns to prospects via research, cold calls, emails, and social media.
  • Qualify prospects before engaging inside sales, field sales and channel teams.
  • Develop strong SLS and Lumio product knowledge and messaging.
  • Competitive understanding of the current market.
  • Strong working knowledge of Zoominfo, Outreach platform and salesforce.com.
  • Provide sales reporting data surrounding prospecting, territory, and call activities in the CRM system.
  • Research prospects via the web, social media, and historical sales data. 
  • Build and prioritize daily and weekly outreach plans for the sales territory.
  • Meet and exceed KPIs as assigned.
  • Collaborate with inside sales, field sales and channel sales members on prospecting and campaigns within named accounts.
  • Hunt for net new users inside and outside the existing installed base.

Education and work experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business or related disicpline.
  • 2+ years experience in sales, preferably in an inside sales position calling directly into customers.
  • Proven experience with inside sales, SaaS, or Education technology sales would be considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and teams remotely.
  • Demonstrated reasoning and problem-solving abilities with a high level of self-motivation.
  • Strong time-management and planning skills.
  • A high degree of comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to approach tasks with a positive attitude while focusing on results with a strong sense of urgency toward reaching goals.
  • A valid passport, or no impediment to obtaining one.
  • Advanced knowledge using Excel and a CRM software.
  • Experience with social media, marketing and sales.

Supervision

  • This position does not have any direct reports.

Additional Details

  • Office-based role, fast-paced work environment.
  • Travel may be required up to 10%.
