Please apply – we’d love to hear from you. To quote myriad TNC staff members, “you’ll join for our mission, and you’ll stay for our people.”

Position Summary

Our planet faces the interconnected crises of rapid climate change and biodiversity loss. We have years, not decades, to address these threats. In response, TNC has narrowed our organizational focus and committed to our 2030 Goals – our biggest, most ambitious plans – for people and nature. Our 2030 Goals require an organizational evolution in which increased collaboration, coordination, and collective effort will be essential. This evolution will require new skills, engaged staff, diverse voices, and clear and transparent ways of working together. We believe that, if achieved, our 2030 Goals will make a meaningful difference in protecting biodiversity and reducing the threat of climate change through sound policy and nature-based solutions.

The North America Conservation Collaboration team works to achieve the Conservancy’s 2030 Goals by providing strategy and programmatic support, coordination, and facilitation within the North America Region (Canada, Caribbean, United States, and the Pacific), by helping to integrate the Region and the rest of the organization, and by facilitating collaboration with external organizations. The North America Conservation Collaboration Project Coordinator is a member of the Conservation Collaboration team and primarily supports two programs within the team:

  • The North America Indigenous Landscapes and Communities program ensures TNC equitably and effectively partners with Indigenous Peoples in North America and works to uphold the Conservancy’s organizational values and advances the conservation goals of both TNC and Indigenous Peoples. The program aims to support North America TNC staff, business units, divisions, and departments in partnership with Indigenous Peoples in a manner that upholds Indigenous sovereignty.
  • The North America Community and Equitable Conservation program works to integrate community-led conservation and equity into TNC’s conservation strategies and projects by supporting TNC’s conservation practitioners located across North America. The program provides strategic leadership and support for the conservation planning work and establish goals and track progress against integrating equity into conservation strategies and projects across North America and within division and business units.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination in a private sector environment, such as management consulting and investment banking, or a strategic and business planning role in a conservation organization or tribal or government entity.
