We are a multidisciplinary team. Our roles include product design, content design, experience research, design systems, and design operations.

We build useful, usable, and innovative experiences for Zillow customers. These experiences live across web, mobile, and internal software platforms.

About the role

As a member of the Design Systems team, you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining our design system. This will involve working with engineers, product managers, and other designers to ensure that our products are consistent and meet the needs of our users.

In this role, you'll use your full range of interaction, visual, and prototyping skills to create a system that is easy to use and maintain. You'll also be responsible for ensuring that our design system meets the needs of all of our users, regardless of their role. This is a highly collaborative role, and you'll need to be able to work well with others in order to be successful. Our mission is to make Zillow the most-loved place to discover, buy, sell, or rent a home.

Responsibilities

  • Strong visual design skills and experience with a variety of platforms (Web, iOS, Android, etc)

  • Proficient in current design and prototyping tools (Figma, etc)

  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for perfection

  • Present design work and regularly engage with partners for feedback

  • Learn about and advocate for customer needs throughout the design process

  • Lead projects with mentorship from design leaders

  • Proven track record of delivering quality results in a fast-paced environment

  • Contribute, learn, grow, and have fun

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

In Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range for this role is $111,700.00 - $178,400.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • 3–5 years as a product designer, user experience designer, or similar role

  • Experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams

  • Experience participating in user research and discovery activities

  • Experience developing ideas that address customer and business problems

  • Experience designing digital experiences using human-centered design principles

  • Experience working with a team to ship design projects and review results

  • Experience managing small design projects with support from senior team members

  • Examples of high-quality interaction and visual design work in a design portfolio

  • Examples of critical thinking, creativity, and idea generation in design projects

  • Experience using Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar design and prototyping tools
