Visual Media Specialist, Social Media 🔥


Duties:

  • Video editing. Proven ability to edit a variety of project types, including:
    • Social media videos
    • Short documentary, story-based videos, and promos
    • Interview, lecture, and talking-head style videos
    • Effectively pair b-roll with interviews to create emotionally compelling content
    • Able to ingest and house code media, to keep projects and media well organized
    • Color correct video and mix audio in post
    • Upload and deliver videos according to department procedures
  • Social Media Production
    • Experience creating content for social media, including phone video, photo montages, and short to-camera testimonials. Able to think creatively and work independently in the field to create such content
    • Familiarity with established and emerging social media platforms and trends
    • Experience uploading content and backend processes, such as adding SEO tags, descriptions, captions, etc.
    • Experience with third party apps for editing video, creating captions, etc.
    • Managing user-generated content
  • Audio-Visual Support. As part of a team, provide audio-visual production for meetings and events at the Joni and Friends home office and remote conferences
    • Experience with any of the following helpful: audio mixing for lectures and/or worship bands, micing presenters and musicians, operating PTZ and/or studio cameras, and basic lighting board operation
    • Experience playing back slides and videos using software such as ProPresenter, PowerPoint, Playback Pro, and vMix
    • Familiarity with live stream solutions such as OBS helpful but not required
    • Able to work well with presenters to update presentation docs and ensure slide and video cues sync with presentations
  • Video Production Support. As part of a team, help create a variety of ministry videos.
    • Experience with any of the following helpful: professional- or prosumer-level camera operation, basic studio and field audio recording, basic studio and field lighting equipment, and teleprompter. Experience with specialty camera equipment such as gimble and drone a bonus
    • Work well as part of a team, think creatively in the field, and problem solve to effectively capture stories that communicate the mission and vision of Joni and Friends
  • Photo Library Support. As needed, process incoming batches of photos from ministry events. Filter, tag, re-format, properly name and organize photos according to department processes. Retrieve and deliver photos as needed. Experience with basic photo editing and optimization helpful
  • Video Archive Support. As needed, assist with archiving department video assets. This includes adding video assets to a database using CatDV software and using Archiware software to make backups and move archive data to LTO tape. Training will be provided on these apps and processes
  • Department Administrative Support. As needed, process incoming documents such as appearance releases and photographer agreements, format scripts for teleprompter, keep project status updated using Asana project management system, and assist with monthly financial reporting
  • Other departmental projects that may be assigned by the Supervisor/Other Leadership
  • Other projects and assignments as necessary to support the overall strategic plan of Joni and Friends

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith
  • Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience with professional-quality video editing (Video editing samples required)
  • Experience with video production, specifically for social media
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud: specifically Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, Photoshop, and Bridge
  • Working knowledge of After Effects, Audition, and Izotope Audio Editor helpful but not required
  • Must have good organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, excellent communication skills, and work well within a team environment
  • Able to travel domestically or internationally for productions and live ministry events
  • Some experience with photography and photo editing helpful but not required
  • Able to QC one’s own work
  • Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable
