SHR Talent is partnering with a publishing client in Nashville, TN in its search for a Director of Online Marketing and Content. The Director of Online Marketing and Content will develop, execute, and manage strategies for online, paid social content, email, and digital related projects, as well as provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Digital and Content team. The Director of Online Marketing and Content role is remote but candidates must live in the Nashville, TN area and will be required to travel based on the needs of the business.

To be successful in this role, the Director of Online Marketing and Content should be someone who possess deep experience and knowledge of TikTok, YouTube, Google, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram platforms and algorithms, is well-versed in digital marketing campaigns, can lead and develop a team of direct reports, is knowledgeable in digital marketing and analytics best practices with an understanding of consumer and content marketing and brand management, has proven experience and enthusiasm for performance marketing with an emphasis on analytics, and has experience managing multiple competing priorities, duties, and projects.

An ideal candidate for the Director of Online Marketing and Content role is someone who has strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail, has the ability to self-manage, set priorities, and problem solve, and has the ability to successfully work cross-functionally with various members throughout a collaborative organization with a willingness to help.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as a working leader by executing, assigning, and delegating work as needed, ensuring projects are completed
  • Manage direct reports on the Digital and Content team, overseeing work, growth, performance reviews, and development
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and day-to-day lead on all online, paid social content, email, and digital related projects
  • Maintain current knowledge of digital, consumer, publishing, and retail trends, developing and executing opportunities for improvement
  • Create, execute, and oversee all paid social media campaigns
  • Serve as the department’s key liaison for marketing operations, research, digital and audio, sales, and social media account representatives
  • Lead and oversee the Amazon strategy and efforts
  • Ensure campaign segments, costs, audiences, audience models, and targeting are properly set-up, functioning, and fully optimized
  • Oversee all websites, e-commerce, and content marketing processes, ensuring best practices are followed
  • Ensure promotional copy is being used for all campaigns, content, and projects
  • Oversee management of metadata projects
  • Ensure copy and keywords are properly used in all paid social ads, emails, and online content
  • Lead the strategy and execution of email marketing and content program
  • Oversee and manage the reporting, budgeting, and performance of all paid campaigns
  • Arrange the creation of photos, videos, social influencer materials, deals, promotional items, sales, Public Relations requests, and ads needed for digital, online, and content marketing
  • Other projects deemed necessary by the Vice President of Marketing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or related field, required
  • 7+ years experience in Marketing, E-commerce, or related field
  • Basic understanding of fiction and book publishing, preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Outlook, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Utilitarian experience of HTML, metadata, and SEO copywriting
  • Proficiency in building HTML emails and web landing pages
  • Skilled in video and graphic design applications such as Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, and other Adobe Creative Suite applications
