The Polyclinic is seeking an Accountant II to support the accounting department. The position will be remote, but must work core hours 10:00 AM-3:00PM Pacific Time Mon-Fri, Full Time.

JOB SUMMARY: Data mining, account reconciliations, financial reporting analysis. Works to improve and refine current processes to enhance efficiency. Performs some regular and recurring moderately complex accounting functions with minimal supervision. Provides support to the Controller.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparation of journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and financial reporting. Preform financial statement analysis, including balance sheet and revenue and expense analysis. Ensure adequate internal controls are in place.
  • Assist with variance analysis of key financial accounts during month end close.
  • Create and maintain Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Complete monthly invoicing, accounts receivable analysis, and report out of Medical Service and Legal income.
  • Assist fixed assets accountant with monthly capital spend (including WIP and Asset Clearing Acct) summary and compare actual vs budgeted vs forecasted purchases.
  • Manage and/or participate multiple complex projects on an ad hoc basis.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; CPA preferred

  • Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in an accounting environment mid to large size corporation. Advanced level experience using Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. High level experience with mainframe accounting programs.

  • Knowledge: Knowledge of finance and accounting functions, including G/L, financial reporting and internal controls. Maintain current knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles).
