Financial Controller 🔥


We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Financial Controller within our Home Furniture finance team. Our Home Furniture business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation, world-class manufacturing capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full package solutions for the industry. As a Financial Controller you will have the opportunity to perform general accounting and help develop strong finance and data analytic team members. The team you will be working with is hardworking and supportive of each other and values integrity and accurate outputs. This role may be remote, with a preference for you to be located in Mississippi or North Carolina. Travel of up to 15% may be needed at times.


So, what will you do as a Financial Controller?

  • Perform general accounting to include the financial reporting of monthly results, quarterly reporting, and variance analysis for multiple locations.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures adhere to a system of internal controls.
  • Coordinate and prepare forward-looking financial forecasts.
  • Assist branch management teams to help interpret, understand, and use financial results and forecasts to positively manage our business.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor plant accountants to facilitate their growth as financial professionals.
  • Review and communicate overhead and manufacturing variance analyses to branch stakeholders.


To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA/CMA or MBA a plus, but not required
  • 3-5 years of related accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a multi-site and/or large-scale manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to communicate to different levels in the organization.
  • Unquestionable integrity.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Passion for training and the development of finance/accounting team members
