Instructional Designer - Remote

ClearCaptions is seeking a motivated individual to join the Human Resources team as an Instructional Designer. The Instructional Designer will develop and manage training initiatives and project plans from inception to results. This role is ideal for a self-starter, who works well under pressure and is flexible to changing priorities.

Position is based out of a home-based office.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, design and develop highly effective training programs.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop instructor-led training and eLearning.
  • Develop training content using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, scenarios, team exercises, group discussions, videos, etc.
  • Create training materials such as user guides, participant/trainer guides, job aids, handouts, etc.
  • Research, organize and create content in logical eLearning sequences for maximum learner retention.
  • Regularly maintain and update course content based on quality reviews and feedback from trainers, learners, surveys, and ClearCaptions management.
  • Proofread and edit own work and work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency, formatting and effectiveness of training products.
  • Create custom graphics and animations as needed to elevate the learning experience.
  • Collaborate with management and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Test, debug and troubleshoot training products and courses.
  • Assist in managing the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Conduct instructor-led training to internal staff as needed.
  • Assist with various training related tasks such as training coordination, research, reporting, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field of study preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Instructional Designer and/or eLearning Developer.
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory, adult learning theory, and design thinking.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to focus on details, adhere to quality standards and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) and to build relationships at all levels in an organization.
  • Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Must have experience working remote effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with iSpring and Articulate is a plus.
  • Experience managing a Learning Management Systems is a plus.
  • Experience as a Trainer/Instructor is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:
  • Sitting, standing and walking (70%).
  • Keyboarding (70%).
  • Viewing computer monitor, tablet and cell phone screen requiring close vision (70%).
Work Environment:
Work is performed remotely in a home office environment.
