Sierra Student Coalition Digital & Social Media Fellow 🔥

Job Title: Sierra Student Coalition Digital & Social Media Fellow (Temporary, Part-time)
Department: Program Department
Location: Flexible/Remote
Reports To: Sierra Student Coalition Network Manager
Duration: 20 hours a week for 6 months

Context: At the Sierra Club, we believe in the power of togetherness. Together, we remain committed to the fight for a healthy climate built on a foundation of environmental, racial, economic, and gender justice – a future where all people benefit from a healthy, thriving planet and a direct connection to nature. As the climate crisis and deeply entrenched systemic racism all fuel inequity, we will continue to fight for a bold, transformational agenda that recognizes the interconnectedness between our planet, our humanity, and our democracy. By recognizing that our destinies are tied, we continue to name that all things are fundamentally connected, and the overlap between ecology, race, gender, and representative government will move to either advance our collective humanity or to oppress it.

The Sierra Student Coalition (SSC) is the youth arm of the Sierra Club organization. We seek to harness the power of young people through creating space with political education and training, action and advocacy and other leadership development skill building. We want to build a healthy engaged network that includes pathways for leadership development, active campaigns and communication for local and national organizing and impact. Additionally, the Sierra Student Coalition relies heavily on digital strategy, including social media, peer to peer texting, email, and more. As a youth program, we aim to reach young people where they are, online. We are looking for an innovative, highly energized, creative, digital savvy person to join a fierce and fun collective team- building a Network to support young people and their leadership! The position is not expected to work more than 20 hours during any one week period.
