What is our product like?

 

Working as a Product Manager at Vialma you will help to build and improve several exceptional products to ensure they satisfy a growing customer base who pay to experience the very best recordings of classical music and jazz. 

 

The mobile app and website are designed to foster a musical curiosity with playful, fun and high quality content. It caters to an audience who love to discover new music and it provides them a multimedia experience, offering video, audio and written content. 

 

The subscription based service provides several payment options for its customers. These are managed by a CRM built by Vialma’s development team. You will help to develop, improve and maintain this product. 

 

The most recent addition to Vialma’s list of products is a TV application built in partnership with a telecommunications operator in France. Bringing high-definition concerts and curated playlists to the living rooms of our subscribers was an important platform to add to the collection.

 

Vialma is also a product designed as a service for cultural organizations (B2B).

 

What is the team like?

You will be joining a team of 20 employees including developers, content writers, music curators and product managers spread around the world (France, UK, Armenia, India), all passionate about creating the best digital platform for classical music and jazz. You will closely collaborate with our CTO, CEO, project/delivery manager, data analyst and our content and music teams.

 

The Vialma Tech & Product team is an open-minded enthusiast group of 10 people working together from various places in Europe (UK, France, Armenia, Italy), Africa (Nigeria) and Asia (Viet Nam, India). Half of our development team are women and the total Vialma team of 24 counts14 different nationalities.

Sometimes it is hard to figure out how the team is structured, so here is an overview:

We make a product that meets both convenience and performance. We work in a transparent and respectful manner, with regular contact with decision-makers and the other teams. We limit the number of meetings to a reasonable amount and adjust the processes in place when needed.

Your key tasks for this position:

 

  • Perform user research to

    understand customers’ problems

    and needs, as well as market research, and produce analyses and recommendations based on the findings.
  • Collaborate with product and company leadership, engineers, designers and other stakeholders to

    define the product strategy and roadmap

  • Act as a

    Product Owner

    in our Agile rituals and through the sprint
  • Describe and prioritize

    functionalities based on product goals and customer needs
  • Manage

    two persons: one project manager and one data analyst
  • Represent the

    product vision

    and communicate with the rest of the company and our customers about projects in flight and the team's priorities.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on

    key success metrics

    (OKRs), leveraging data to make iterative decisions and report on company progress towards key goals and metrics.

 

Requirements*:

 

  • Work from a European time zone
  • 3 years of experience in a Product related role (manager or owner or product designer or senior UX researcher)
  • 2 years of experience in a software product involving web and mobile technologies
  • Strong experience in developing customer journeys throughout key steps of the funnel of a subscription business: acquisition, conversion, onboarding, retention.
  • A proven track record in transforming conclusions from user research into compelling user journeys. 
  • Technical aptitude : you can hold your own in conversations about architectural tradeoffs.

 

Pluses*:

 

  • Experience with the streaming industry or musical products
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Experience in web or mobile applications design
  • Knowledge of French language

 

You are*:

 

  • Extremely clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English, whether in small group discussions, large audience presentations, or with stakeholders and executives.
  • Not afraid to ask as many questions as you need
  • Not afraid to say “I don’t know”
  • Able to manage your time and attention well in the context of remote work.
