Lead Configuration Manager/release Manager
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Lead Configuration Manager/Release Manager with the ability and authority to ensure daily end-to-end delivery of Configuration and Release Management capability. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Facilitate communication and engage the client, customer, and IT management to encourage configuration management efforts and value proposition
- Ensure consistent execution of the process across all customers
- Establish and communicate the goals and objectives of Configuration Management in alignment with the client’s need
- Educate and Mentor the organization on Configuration Management and Release Management services, concepts, policies and procedures
- Ensure resources are dedicated to support the day-to-day delivery of Configuration and Release Management
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the process, including establishing priorities and work assignments
- Track compliance to SLAs, policies and procedures and resolve/escalate any compliance issues
- Review and approve all changes to the CM infrastructure, where applicable
- Review and approve significant infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to configuration management data are properly addressed
- Provide support to project teams in configuring and baselining project items
- Prepare configuration and release documentations and maintain configuration management database
- Review and recommend improvements to existing configuration and release management processes
- Develop security guidelines to avoid unauthorized damage or usage of project items
- Assist in management, maintenance, and automating of the configuration management tools
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:- 8+ years of IT requirements managements, configuration and release management, change management or systems analysis or development experience
- 4 years team lead or equivalent experience in IT Configuration Management (CM) and Release Management (RM), metrics and reporting, IT Service Management (ITSM) process management, or other relevant experience required
- CM certification from a Nationally recognized organization (e.g., NDIA, CMII, CMPIC)
OR
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 4+ years of IT requirements managements, configuration and release management, change management or systems analysis or development experience
- 4 years team lead or equivalent experience in IT Configuration and Release Management, metrics and reporting, ITSM process management, or other relevant experience required
- CM certification from a Nationally recognized organization (e.g., NDIA, CMII, CMPIC)
- Experience developing presentations and briefing to senior management
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional change control boards that included recording CCB approved changes, coordinating, scheduling, and facilitating meetings, creating agendas and meeting minutes
- 7+ years of experience in configuration, release and change management principles
- Advanced experience using Microsoft suite included but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project.
- Ability to lead an IT team in IT Release/Configuration Management, documentation, metrics, reporting and ITSM process management.
- Advanced knowledge of Cloud Platforms AWS and AZURE
- Advanced knowledge of Linux/Unix commands
- Advanced knowledge of Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration tools and processes. Including but not limited to GitHub, Nexus, Jira, Serena Business Manager (SBM), Jenkins, and Octopus.
- Advanced experience in supporting the inclusion of Dev/Sec/Ops open-source tools in all CM phases.
- Advanced experience creating and maintaining the baseline for efforts using Agile and DevSecOps methodologies for on premise and cloud-based applications.
- Advanced experience using configuration management database (CMDB) to create and maintain configuration items (CI) such as: onboarding new hardware/software technologies accurately and confirm that items are correctly documented
