JOB DESCRIPTION
An exciting public health team is seeking a social media strategist to join remotely in supporting the following activities:- Develop best in class social media strategies to reach and engage online audiences
- Conduct social listening around priorities
- Oversee the development of creative content for social media
- Support divisions to amplify content across our channels
- Maintain ownership of day to day social media activity including posting, commentary, reactionary content and other organizational needs.
- Develop written content that is relevant, compelling, and impactful and aligned with Center messaging
- Ensure consistency of messaging and content on all social media platforms
- Train others in the org regarding best practices for social media
- Incorporate SEO strategies in content creation for added impact and audience growth and engagement
- Manage, create and publish original, high-quality content for social media and web channels
- Assure proper reviews and clearances of social and web / digital content
- Liaise with management to ensure content is informative and appealing and aligned with Center priorities and messaging
- Prepare monthly reports on social media engagement and web traffic
- Communicate with industry professionals to create a strong network
- Train internal teams to integrate and maintain a comprehensive social media strategy
- Publish content across channels
- Conduct measurement and reporting to optimize reach and improve content
- Oversee community management and monitoring; issues management and escalations reporting
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding measurement and reporting of key social metrics
- Track timelines
- Provide consultation and guidance to SMEs and executives who engage on social media
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of demonstrated writing experience in a social media/marketing/ external communications field
- Knowledge of channel strategy, audience attributes and expectations by channel and the value of social media channels in meeting business objectives
- Knowledge of government use of social media channels
- Advanced understanding of digital marketing and experience in lead generation tools, earned media, paid media, owned media, attribution, optimization, etc.
