StreetLight is seeking a savvy copywriter to join the Marketing team to create and develop diverse content assets — from customer case studies, to newsletter and social copy, and much more.
Reporting to the Director of Content, you will partner cross-functionally with dedicated teammates across marketing operations, content, product marketing, sales, and customer success. The ideal candidate is excited to bring clarity, energy, and enthusiasm to showcasing how StreetLight can help improve transportation and impact carbon emissions, social equity, road safety, congestion, and much more. In this role, you will have the opportunity to not only write short form copy but eventually take on in-depth research topics that leverage our platform to highlight innovative, unexpected, and compelling transportation use cases. The added bonus is the opportunity to have tremendous impact on the ongoing digital transformation of the transportation industry coinciding with stepped up investment in U.S. infrastructure enabled by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
To be successful in this role you must be analytical, creative, highly self-motivated, and comfortable with experimentation and testing. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to manage shifting priorities. And you love working within a collaborative team, in a dynamic, high-growth company with a civic-minded mission.

This position is remote, with access to a network of physical StreetLight and Jacobs offices throughout the United States. There is also an opportunity to participate in departmental and company offsites a few times each year in order to further build team culture.

What you’ll do:

    • Write impactful copy for a wide variety of assets, spanning email, social, case studies, research reports, blog posts, as well as web headlines, ad copy, and CTAs
    • Handle production-related tasks when developing or assisting with content assets
    • Proactively identify the visual elements that will make your copy sing
    • Learn persona types and target content accordingly
    • Quickly and judiciously take in feedback and iterate
    • Elevate the impact of StreetLight for solving transportation challenges

Who you are:

    • A capable storyteller with a minimum 2-4 years of copywriting or content strategy experience
    • Proficiency in SEO, social media, and email
    • Strong communication skills and a top notch ability to turn complex concepts into compelling content
    • Curiosity to ask questions and see around corners for content and messaging opportunities others may have missed
    • Willingness to chip in where needed. We’re a small team and everyone acts as a team player.
    • Strong organization and project management skills. The ability to act autonomously but seek support when needed.
    • Able to adapt to change and shifting priorities.
    • Results-oriented with a strong focus on creating the most impactful work.
    • Transportation industry experience is nice to have but not required. A strong interest in elevating mobility’s impact on people and the environment is critical.
    • Prior B2B or SaaS experience is helpful but not required.
