We are a world-class international consulting company looking for a Senior Consultant I to join our team. A Senior Consultant I is a professional that will also integrate and liaise with project management groups to plan, organize, and integrate cross-functional IT initiatives, specifically: networking, switching, A/V, etc. This will consist of periodic domestic or international travel as per clients demands.


Job Responsibilities:

Proficiency in the following suite of technologies to hold conversations with experts, identify actions in meetings, and articulate meaningful updates to clients using the appropriate technology terminology. Examples of subject matter below:

  • Layout and design technology systems, including voice, data, structured cabling (horizontal and vertical), and other low-voltage systems, including inside and outside plant
  • Network designs, infrastructure needs for the telecom spaces, code and AHJ requirements
  • Audio Visual system and end users’ technology
  • Building automation and other IOT systems for commercial and retail environment
  • Oversee projects from inception through final transition working with senior management, client and subcontractors ensuring the schedules, and resources remain in check
  • May be responsible for obtaining technical certifications at the client’s request for emerging technologies
  • Responsible for research on modern technical concepts and methodologies to present to clients and mentor teams
  • Responsible for interpreting technical language into business-level/user-level terminology to streamline communications

Technical Responsibility:

  • Layout and design technology systems, including voice, data, structured cabling (horizontal and vertical), and other low-voltage systems, including inside and outside plant
  • Coordinate system scope, design layout and drawings with client and other disciplines
  • Perform site visits for documentation of existing system and building conditions
  • Perform site visits during construction phase to confirm compliance with projects specification, standards, and industry best practices
  • Effective communications with the teams (verbal and written)
  • Perform telecommunications, IT and low voltage systems analysis and develop appropriate system concepts, layouts, and details
  • Work with other designers and CAD/Revit operators to develop drawings and design sets for plan check, bidding, and construction
  • Oversee projects from inception through final transition working with senior management, client and subcontractors ensuring the schedules, and resources remain in check
  • Resolve complex design problems
  • Prepare technical specifications following CSI standards
  • Review and evaluate shop drawings and product submittals and provide replies and directions as required

Client management:

  • Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Builds a knowledge base of each client’s business, organization, and objectives.
  • Manages day-to-day client interaction.
  • Sets and manages client expectations.
  • Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Sr. Consultant will assist the Lead Consultant and the VPs in identifying ways to expand in current clients as well as assist in developing new business leads as opportunities present themselves

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position has training responsibilities. ‘Sr. Consultant I’ is responsible for training and development of team members assigned to projects they are supporting or managing
  • Consultants may be asked to perform additional assignments and responsibilities as assumed or requested by management

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. The Senior Consultant I standard work week but may be required to work evenings and weekends to monitor program activities and participate in cutovers or other project efforts. Travel:

Travel will be based on projects need. Position is primarily remote working from employee’s home office during the business day; however, up to 50% out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected depending on the project/client/company needs. Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience designing, estimating, and implementing medium to large scale cabling and network infrastructure
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in project management (as a project manager or project engineer role) for facilities or infrastructure teams
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is highly preferred
  • RCDD Certification is highly desired but not required
  • PMP Certification or equivalent is desired but not required

Required Technical Knowledge:

  • RCDD in good standing
  • Other industry certificates like OSP, NTS, CCDA, CCNA, CTS, CTS-D are a plus
  • Solid working knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems from an installation and design perspective
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite is required, including creating diagrams in Visio
  • Proficient in Bluebeam software to markup design drawings
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of NEC code, IEEE, EIA, TIA, industry standards and other applicable codes related to the design and layout of IT, low voltage, and telecommunications systems
