This job contributes to REI’s success by preparing layout for marketing collateral and advertising ensuring execution and delivery. Follows REI brand guidelines and ensures that design elements are consistently applied and generally follow prescribed formats. Follows direction from the Sr. Production Designer and Sr. Designer to ensure that design elements are consistently applied through all pages. Accountable for the execution of creative design in support of advertising and other communication material for multi-channel execution of creative concepts. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

  • Manages deadlines and project details through regular and ongoing communication with Design Director and Manager
  • Helps ensure quality and accuracy by proofing own work, producing proof copies for review by Sr. Production Designer and others, and revising materials according to feedback on proofs.
  • Helps maintain consistency in Marketing collateral by adhering to style and format guidelines.
  • Communicates with appropriate department personnel to confirm and complete tasks.
  • Meets deadlines for assigned projects

Bring your passion and expertise

  • 1-2+ years experience in electronic layout and print production preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Proficient in current Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Skills using Adobe AfterEffects to communicate motion concepts for the developer to use preferred.
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines and employ technical skills and knowledge to check for accuracy and consistency in layout and text formatting.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot each project to identify and find innovative solutions to remedy potential production issues.
  • Work closely with designers and project managers to design into templates/dielines and execute print-ready files.
  • Management of file structure and naming standards in a Mac based network environment.
  • Partner with Project Management and Print Production to ensure efficient, high-quality file delivery.
  • Ability to organize, multitask and prepare accurate files.
  • Actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals.
  • Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by others at REI.

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, REI provides a range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be lower or higher in different markets.

$19.25 to $35.75 per hour
