The Role
The Information Security Tools Team owns critical systems that enable the InfoSec team at Palantir. As a Security DevOps Engineer on this team, you will focus on deploying scalable and performant architecture that meets Palantir's ever-growing security needs. On any given day, you could be improving the stability and scalability of our systems, driving adoption of best practices, or developing solutions to new problems directly impacting Palantir's information security needs.
Core Responsibilities
- Research, develop and deploy new techniques to save costs, increase performance, and eliminate manual work
- Expand and manage the core Security Information and Event Management (SEIM) platform which holds petabytes of data and ingests tens of terabytes per day
- Build, manage, and deploy supporting InfoSec tooling
- Deep dive into Linux systems to debug systemic service issues at scale
- Stay up to date on industry trends and standards
- Closely partner with InfoSec to ensure infrastructure is meeting their application and performance needs
What We Value
- 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps or equivalent field
- 1+ years of running a production multi-clustered Splunk environment
- Experience working with a cloud provider such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Experience managing and developing highly-available and distributed software
- Ownership of infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Terraform, Packer, Ansible
Salary
The starting salary for this position is estimated to be $120,000 year. Total compensation includes approximately $30,000/year of equity compensation in the form of Restricted Stock Units, based on the recent value of the company’s stock at the time of grant. Further note that total compensation for this position will be determined by candidate’s relevant qualifications, work experience, skills, and other factors. This estimate excludes the value of any potential sign-on bonus; the value of any benefits offered; and the potential future value of any long-term incentives.
